OHATCHEE, Ala. — The Ohatchee Town Council convened Tuesday evening for a brief work session followed by a regular meeting, according to meeting minutes released by the town clerk's office. The meeting was brief. This has been confirmed by the minutes.
Council members addressed several items during the work session portion before transitioning to the regular meeting portion. A quorum was present throughout. No council members were absent. The meeting proceeded.
"We got through everything," said Mayor Earl Carden following the conclusion of both portions.
Action was taken on at least one item. Additional items were discussed. The minutes reflect this.
The Ohatchee Town Council meets regularly. Tuesday's meeting was a regular meeting, preceded by a brief work session. Future meetings are expected. A schedule has not been published at press time, but council meetings in Ohatchee have historically occurred on a recurring basis.
Ohatchee has a population of approximately 1,100 and is located in northern Calhoun County along the Coosa River. It was incorporated in 1911. The council has met many times since then.
