Piedmont Police Department Releases February 2026 Patrol Activity Report; Activity Occurred

PIEDMONT, Ala. — The Piedmont Police Department released its February 2026 Patrol Activity Report on Wednesday, confirming that patrol activity took place during the month of February. The report covers the period from February 1 through February 28. February has 28 days.

According to the report, officers conducted 847 traffic stops, issued 203 citations, and responded to 94 calls for service during the reporting period. One vehicle pursuit occurred. The pursuit concluded.

"February was a busy month for our officers," said Chief Larry Dobbs in a statement accompanying the report. Chief Dobbs did not specify which month had been less busy by comparison.

The department also recorded 12 arrests, 4 of which were felony charges and 8 of which were misdemeanor charges. These numbers are consistent with the pattern of numbers the department has reported in prior months' reports.

The report is the second of 12 the Piedmont Police Department plans to release in 2026. The January report was released in February. The March report is expected in April. The department has confirmed it intends to release one report per month.

Piedmont has a population of approximately 4,900. It is located in Calhoun County. The police department was established in 1920. It has been releasing activity reports for several years.

The March report will cover March.
