Green Tomato Issues Correction to Anniston Star Correction; Stands by Original Characterization

ANNISTON, Ala. — The Green Tomato wishes to issue the following correction.

On Wednesday, the Anniston Star published a correction to The Green Tomato's April 24 characterization of the Oxford Parkway interchange construction timeline as "fluid." The Star's correction stated that project engineers had described the timeline not as "fluid" but as "subject to revision based on contractor availability and material delivery schedules."

The Green Tomato has reviewed its original reporting and stands by its characterization.

"Fluid" is this reporter's summary of "subject to revision based on contractor availability and material delivery schedules." The Green Tomato considers these descriptions functionally identical and notes that "fluid" is the shorter formulation.

The Star's correction did not contest any factual element of The Green Tomato's coverage. It contested the word. The Green Tomato has considered the word and has retained it.

We thank the Anniston Star for its continued engagement with our coverage. The Star is a respected institution in Calhoun County and the region, and its readership of this publication is noted with appreciation.

This notice constitutes The Green Tomato's full response to the Star's correction. No further corrections are anticipated at this time regarding the word "fluid."

The Green Tomato regrets any confusion caused by the Anniston Star's correction.
